On Being a Grandmother!

Since becoming a grandmother I have found great joy in my grandson. As a grandmother though I need to know when to let my grandson's parents do their job as parents. Too often I believe grandparents get carried away with advice ( I probably have been guilty of this at least once). When we give advice too freely we may run the risk of putting the parents off a bit. The job of being a grandmother should entail being able to spend quality time with the grandchildren, time that we may not have been able to give to our children while they were growing up. There should also be much laughter and joy.

I enjoy each moment with my grandson. He sometimes reminds so much of his mother and yet he is still his own person. He has developed quite a little personality over the last not quite two years.

I have found a wonderful poem written to a grandmother that I want to share with you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
